Delete Your Account

Reprogram app and website · Last updated 1 October 2026
The short version
  • Settings, then Account, then Delete account, in the app or on the website.
  • Your account is erased after 30 days. Sign in before then to cancel.
  • A few records are kept for safety and legal reasons, listed below.
  • No access to the app? Email privacy@reprogramweekly.com.

1. Delete your account in the app

You can delete your Reprogram account yourself, on iPhone, iPad, Android or the web. In the app:

  1. Open Reprogram and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings, then Account, and choose Delete account.
  3. Type DELETE to confirm. If your account has a password, enter it too. If you only ever signed in with Apple or Google, sign out and sign in again first, so we know it is you.
  4. Choose Delete account. You are signed out on every device.

2. Delete your account on the website

Sign in at read.reprogramweekly.com and open Settings, then Account. Under “Sign out and delete” choose Delete account, type DELETE, enter your password if you have one, and confirm. Creator Studio accounts (studio.reprogramweekly.com) have the same option in Settings.

3. What happens next: a 30-day grace period

Deleting starts a 30-day countdown instead of erasing everything on the spot, so a mistake or a stolen phone can be undone.

  • Right away: every session is signed out, your profile is no longer shown, and we email you the date your account will be deleted. Settings shows it as “Scheduled for deletion on [date]”.
  • Within the 30 days: you can sign in again and cancel. Your account comes back exactly as it was.
  • After 30 days: a background job erases the account and its data, as listed below. This cannot be undone, and we cannot restore it for you.

4. How to cancel a deletion

Sign in with your usual method before the date in the email. In the app a banner offers Keep my account; on the web go to Settings, then Account, and choose Cancel deletion. If you can no longer sign in, email us from the address on the account (see below) before the date and we will cancel it for you.

5. What is erased

When the 30 days are up we delete:

  • Your sign-in details: email address, password, passkeys, authenticator app, linked Apple or Google sign-in (we also revoke Reprogram's access at Apple) and all sessions.
  • Your profile: name, handle, bio, picture, date of birth or age band, interests, settings and preferences.
  • Your devices and push-notification tokens.
  • Your learning progress, streaks, saved items, notes and anything else that belongs only to you.
  • Your takes, comments and arguments. Where a comment has replies the text is removed and the thread keeps a “Deleted account” placeholder so the conversation still reads.
  • Cached copies, search entries and uploaded pictures.

6. What we keep, and for how long

A small amount of information is kept because the law or our own safety work requires it. None of it is used to show you anything again.

  • Security and administration records about your account (for example that it was created, changed or deleted) are kept in an audit log. After the retention period, who did what to which account is pseudonymised. Most records are kept for 2 years; records the law treats as compliance records are kept for 7 years.
  • Records of moderation actions about your account are kept for 2 years after the case closes. They are kept longer only under a legal hold or when the law requires it.
  • Proof of the consent you gave is kept for 12 months.
  • If you published as a creator, published work stays under your byline as set out in the Creator agreement, unless you ask us to remove it. Drafts, sources and uploaded media are deleted.
  • Encrypted backups are not rewritten. They expire within 35 days, and when one is ever restored we repeat every deletion first. Deleted accounts do not come back.
  • Anonymous totals (for example how many lessons were finished in a week) contain no personal data and stay.

7. Need help, or cannot sign in?

Email privacy@reprogramweekly.com from the address on your account, with “Delete my account” in the subject. We confirm it is you by sending a code to that address, then start the same 30-day process. We reply within 30 days at the latest, usually much sooner. You can use the same address to ask what we hold about you or to have specific information deleted without closing your account.
